The Purgatory Within the dark confines of The Purgatory, the legend of Gothika, the Black Witch of Isla Hell, lives on. No one knows for certain what actually lies beyond the menacing volcano, Vulcan Peak, which shields The Purgatory from all intruders. It is said that the Queen’s chambers are made from the bones of defeated horses. Others say that she simply does not exist - that she is a figment in all of our imaginations. Unfortunately, this is not true. The Black Mamba certainly is there, however much we wish to discard it only as a rumor. Moderator: IH Admin

Mainlands
Bloodbath Plateau Resting menacingly on the eastern border of Isla Hell lies the Bloodbath Plateau, where all battles occur. The large mass, formed of pure obsidian stone, sports a perfectly flat top, allowing no advantage for either opponent. Because of the recent lack of precipitation to wash away all traces of a quarrel, the deep black stone has become clouded with crimson hoof impressions and abstract sweeps of blood. Any equine may venture here to participate in a fight, though wars will be fought on the lower grounds. Moderator: IH Admin
Somber Mountain Somber Mountain, the eldest and most mysterious formation to blemish the island, lies in the dead center of Isla Hell. Constantly shrouded in the thickest of mist, it is the skeleton of a long-dormant volcano. Although many caves lie within the mountain’s sides, creating ideal shelters for the horses of Isla, very few visit Somber Mountain. It’s reputation as “haunted” scare away many, and the harsh conditions in the surrounding area discouraged the herds that once wished to raise foals in the caverns. Today, it is nearly abandoned. Bungalow Bay The west side of Isla Hell is a long stretch of clear, sandy beach. During the summer when the waves are high and the tropical feel of the island is at it's fullest, bachelor stallions, and many others come to watch as they compete in races along the 35 mile stretch. Generally one of the most popular spots among the Lights and Neutrals of Isla, Bungalow Bay lives up to its carefree name. Although Darks are rarely seen here, you may spot one or two watching the fun from the shade and comfort of the tropical foliage that spot the landscape. Moderator: IH Admin
Confluence Falls Wild with the colors of Autumn, Confluence Falls remains to this day the only “one-season” area of Isla Hell. Constantly in the chilly arms of Autumn, the Falls, aptly named for the numerous waterfalls that dot the area, makes the perfect spot for individual horses to congregate and plot. Neutrals frequent the area, although Darks and Lights make their appearance known from time to time. However, it is difficult to remain hidden, for the ground is constantly littered with dead leaves which crackle with each step. The center waterfall, Apogee, allows for a more calming atmosphere, and perhaps a little romance. Moderator: IH Admin

Cape Ether Along the eastern coast of Isla Hell lies Cape Ether, a jutting peninsula that sprouts from the beautiful body of Confluence Falls. These are the “birthing lands” of Isla Hell, where each Spring the foals of the island will be born. Cape Ether shows off glistening beaches and peaceful meadows, the calmest of all environments for the inheritors of Isla Hell begin life. Please note that graphic breeding is STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED. Please post the parents’ statistics and a staff member will post the foal’s statistics.
Enchanted Acres In the South-Western border of Isla Hell lies Enchanted Acres, a valley of great mystery. Often the horses that venture here tell stories of whispers through the trees or footsteps in the meadow. A stream of crystal clear water runs through the center, fine enough to see your reflection. Equines of a lighter nature usually tend to group here, and it is uncommon to spot a Dark or a Neutral. A dazzling mist clouds the elms in a smoothing mask, and silence rings throughout the Acres as if everything is at peace. However, to the North lies Vulcan Peak, where nothing is calm. Should a Light choose to spend his or her time here, they should be careful not to journey too far North, as anything may happen if they are intercepted by a Dark. Moderator: IH Admin

Vulcan Peak Just north of the Enchanted Acres sits a volcano of charred remains and of smoldering heat, as active as it ever was. This volcano, dubbed Vulcan Peak by the island locals, seems to be the creator of Isla Hell itself. Sputtering lava and volcanic ash daily, it is not a site many would venture to see up close. However, those who remain faithful to the dark alliance are commonly seen at the base. It is said that Gothika herself, the Black Witch of Isla Hell, comes to the Peak to renew her energy source and everlasting life. However, these rumors may forever remain a mystery. Ostia Caves Ostia Caves is arguably the most mysterious and least-known areas of Isla Hell, surpassing even The Purgatory. For here, in the caverns that delve deep beneath the surface of the island, is where the Cult of the Magna Mater congregate to worship Cybele. It is said that Cybele herself has been seen in horse form in the valley, though nobody can be sure. Only stallions may come here if they dare worship the goddess.

Residential Lands
The Darks A vast expense of arid wastelands which taper off from the plains, and stretches all the way to the most distant mountain range. There is no water unless one happens to be present after rainfall, and even then it is murky and unsatisfying. There is also a noticeable lack of vegetation, and indeed, this denotes that there is no survival here. These are the borders where many choose to die, and considering the pitfalls and traps under the crumbling earth, it is a fitting place, too. The Darks, once the strongest and most thriving race in Isla Hell, have returned with new leadership. Both Moulin Rouge, Gothika’s closet inhabitant, and Social Anarchist, a newcomer to the island, have found themselves ruling one of the most malicious and uncontrollable species of equine. At the farthest West of Isla Hell, the Dark brigade lies dormant, just waiting for their return. Will they reach their goal and yet again rule Isla Hell, or will the once flourishing race die out for good? Only one thing is certain: Only time will tell. Moderator: IH Admin
The Neutrals Although the Neutrals cannot call themselves the most hardy of all the races in Isla Hell, they have returned yet again for another shot at victory. Dying out many times in recent years, perhaps these ‘middle-of-the-road’ equines can find themselves the suitable leadership they had lacked before. The forest which once stood here was toppled by the fury of the earthquakes, and further leveled by the choking ash of the volcano. The flooded soils expanded over time, creating shallow pools of water, and though the trees grew few and far between, the grasses and scrubs began to thrive. Today, the marsh still lives on, shadowed by its neighboring forests and mountains. The few tress which do manage to stake claim to the unstable ground are small and stunted, but hardy. Reeds grow through the water and grass is abundant here, nourishing the Neutral horses who thrive here. There is usually a faint layer of mist rising from the lands, and in the darkness it is not uncommon to see Will o' the wisps rising from the swamp. Moderator: IH Admin
The Lights Thick timber lines and smothers the abode, with only just enough space to weave in and out of the thick tree trunks of the archaic wood. The Enlightened Lands, it is called, a bountiful haven where the birds flutter from one branch to another, singing melodies of mirth and occasionally melancholy. However, thunderstorms are notorious in the Forenyan Forest. A jump able stream winds it's way through the landscape, springing from an underground source that finds its own beginning in the mountains; it's cold and quenches the thirst of a parched horse. Unfortunately, the forest is so laden and thick that there is a hard time maneuvering through them. In that case, more power to 'em. The gods watch over this domain through peripherals. The Lights, perhaps Isla Hell’s one chance at achieving peace between the three sects, have returned yet again. Opposite the Darks, the Lights reside at the farthest Southeastern point of the island, where sustenance and water are abundant and the conditions are fair. Moderator: IH Admin
